Modern Roofing Materials & Core Competencies

At ProTech Contractors, we keep abreast of the advances in commercial roofing technology and are knowledgeable on the best roofing solutions, based on the needs of any given project. In recent years, new commercial roofing products have been introduced that provide high resistance to temperature extremes and optimize environmental efficiency, helping to reduce stormwater runoff and heating and cooling expenses. At ProTech Contractors, we skillfully apply our expertise and certified products to the following roofing methods:

Asphalt Shingles

There are important attributes of an asphalt shingle roof system. The properties that must be taken into consideration, are wind, impact, fire and algae resistance and solar reflectance. Asphalt shingle roofing provides commercial buildings with attractive, durable, and affordable protection. The layered construction sheds water, insulates from heat and cold, and resists wind uplift. Lastly, shingles come in a wide range of colors and styles to complement any building.

Cold Process

A cold roof system is a type of roofing system that uses insulation and an air gap to separate the roof's exterior from the interior of a building. This separation layer prevents heat transfer and can help with energy efficiency and condensation control. Cold process systems consist of multiple plies of reinforcement sheets that are set in a cold adhesive (solvent based or water based). These systems are often referred to as cold process BUR systems.

EPDM

EPDM stands for ethylene propylene diene monomer, and it’s a synthetic rubber roofing membrane that’s ideal for low-slope and flat roof applications. These roofs are tough, durable, and flexible, and our pros at ProTech know how to achieve perfect, seamless results.

IRMA

IRMA or PRMA Roofing System roofing systems are advantageous because they protect your roof from expansion and contraction caused by weather fluctuations. These kinds of inverted roofing systems are especially valuable where the weather fluctuates rapidly and routinely. Inverted roofing systems are also durable, and offer substantial protection for your building.

Modified SBS

SBS is the most customizable of low-slope commercial roofing product with glass, polyester and composite reinforcements. It can be installed with the widest variety of application methods including cold applied, heat weld, self-adhered, and mechanically fastened.

PVC

PVC roofing membranes offer durable, flexible barriers against the elements. They’re energy efficient and relatively low maintenance, as well, making them a great option for commercial properties and other low-slope or flat roofs. Made from polyvinyl chloride, PVC roofs are resistant to chemicals, algae, and other roof concerns.

Skylights

Commercial skylights, improve the aesthetic and practical benefits as well as improving a building's space, increased revenue, and positively impact resale value.

Slate / Synthetic Slate

A slate roof is a premium roof system made primarily out of natural slate tiles and other slate roofing materials. Synthetic slate shingles are made of recycled materials and are designed to look exactly like a slate roof. It’s one of the most beautiful and long-lasting roof systems on the market. Because of its aesthetics, shingle manufacturers make asphalt shingles (and now synthetic) to mimic the look of a slate roof.

Standing Seam

Standing seam systems are used for a wide range of applications and projects. These systems feature interlocking seams that connect panels, giving the roof a distinct, and attractive, appearance. Furthermore, standing seam systems are manufactured from high-end steel or aluminum offering years of low-maintenance service life. Metal standing seam systems are durable and weathertight, making them ideal for most any application.

ΤΡΟ

TPO roofs (or thermoplastic polyolefin roofs) are roofing membranes designed to protect low-slope and flat roofs from water penetration. They’re energy-efficient, reflecting up to 87% of the sun’s rays from the building. TPO roofing could be a great option for your roof, so call ProTech Contractors to find out.

Vegetated Systems

Vegetated Systems Vegetative roofs, also known as green roofs, are thin layers of living vegetation installed on top of conventional flat or sloping roofs. Vegetative roofs, which are 6 inches or shallower and are frequently designed to satisfy specific engineering and performance goals. The vegetated roof systems, control storm water runoff, mitigate urban heat-island effects, prolong the service life of roofing materials, conserve energy, reduce sound reflection and transmission, and improve aesthetics. ProTech works in conjunction with Green Roof vendors but we do not install.
